TOMA

TOMA stands for “Top Of Mind Awareness”. What does it mean for you as a speaker? Well, if you are going to get booked by meeting planners you must stay in their minds. TOMA is the process of “touching” your client a number of times so that when something comes up, you are who they think of.

Here is an example of TOMA…

1. Cold call a meeting planner. Find out when they are booking their next meeting and will be looking at speakers.

2. Send them a emailed brochure after the conversation. Send them another one at the time they said they would be looking at speakers.

3. Mail them a brochure a week later.

4. Mail them a postcard 2 weeks later.

5. Follow up call a 3 weeks later. This should be the time that you preset with a meeting planner and told them you would be calling again.

As you can see you have “touched” your client six times. It wasn’t pushy and they remember you. This is TOMA.
